The Niagara Fine Arts Program, Inc. announces upcoming auditions

for its 18^th Anniversary Season production of

HAIRSPRAY!

The Niagara Fine Arts Program, Inc. announces upcoming auditions for its 18^th Anniversary Season production of Hairspray, book by Mark O’Donnell and Thomas Meehan, music by Marc Shaiman with lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman. Hairspray is based on the New Line Cinema film written and directed by John Waters.

Auditions are scheduled for Monday, June 13^th and Tuesday, June 14^th for people of all ethnicities, age 14 and above. Auditions will begin at 6:00 pm in the music suite of Niagara Falls High School, 4455 Porter Road, Niagara Falls, New York 14305. Please note: Minorities are encouraged to audition. There are also several adult roles in this production.

Participants must prepare a vocal selection of their choice.  Please bring a copy of the music for the accompanist.  Vocal auditions will take place between 6:00-7:30 pm.  Dance auditions will begin at 7:30 pm. Everyone must participate in both the vocal and dance audition.

Rehearsals for Hairspray will begin on Monday, June 27^th. Hairspray will be presented at

7:00 pm on Thursday August 11^th/18^th Friday August 12^th/19^th  and Saturday August 13^th /20^th

in the Performing Arts Center of Niagara Falls High School, 4455 Porter Road, Niagara Falls, New York 14305.

The staff for this season’s production of Hairspray  includes: Maureen A. Pusateri - Director

Gracie Schupp - Choreographer, Tom Vitello, Jr. - Music Director, Paul M. Wos – Orchestra Rich Meranto - Production Design and Melissa Leventhal – Costume Design.

Hairspray is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI, 412 West 54^th Street, New York, NY 10019.
